Get ready, samurai—Sony just unveiled a new PlayStation rewards program that delivers exclusive merch based on your Trophy achievements! But here’s where it gets controversial: you’ll only qualify for these goodies if you’ve already conquered the game, which could leave more casual players on the sidelines.
Dubbed Franchise Rewards, this initiative goes live today and ties directly into your PS4 and PS5 Trophy list. The first wave shines a spotlight on Ghost of Tsushima. Earn the Mono No Aware Trophy—by completing the main storyline in either the base PS4 edition or the PS5 Director’s Cut—and you unlock the chance to purchase a themed t-shirt for $30. Want to go one step further? Secure the Platinum Trophy and you’ll also have the option to buy a limited-edition Ghost pin for $25. Both items ship to addresses in the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK and Europe (including Monaco, Norway and Switzerland).
Here’s the deadline to bookmark: you must earn the required Trophies by December 31, 2025, in order to unlock the purchase window, and once you’re eligible, you have until January 31, 2026 to place your order. If you’ve already triumphed over Jin’s journey, just log in at ghostrewards.playstation.com and complete your order.
And this is the part most people miss: later in the year, Franchise Rewards will expand to include merch from Ghost of Yotei. Is this Sony’s way of compensating for the retirement of its PS Stars digital points program by offering something you can actually hold in your hand?
What do you think—does tying physical collectibles to Trophy milestones feel like a fair trade, or would you rather stick with virtual credits? Sound off below and let the conversation begin!
